About Bay Vet Group

Locally owned and independent - caring for your pet like it is our own for over 30 years

At Bay Vet Group, our experienced team offer a friendly and personal service.  We have been providing local independent veterinary care in the area for decades and in many cases have known pets throughout their lives.

We are proud to be an independent, locally owned small animal veterinary group.  This is especially important as more local surgeries are being acquired by corporate companies at an increasing rate.  Being independent allows us to provide our own high levels of patient and client care, without the constraints and overheads of an umbrella company.

Our Story

The practice started as a one vet practice over 30 years ago owned by Frank Noble. He was soon joined by current senior director Jonathan Carr. The Dawlish practice soon expanded with the purchase of the Teignmouth surgery. Rod McGregor joined the partnership in 2000 and alongside Jonathan created Teignview Veterinary Group with the famous Dawlish Black Swan as part of the logo.

In 2006 the group expanded further with the addition of two surgeries in Torquay at Warbro Road first and then Sherwell Valley. These two practices were called Bayview Vets and led by director Graeme Earle.

In 2015 the two groups of practices joined together and it became apparent that having different names was confusing for clients as well as staff not sure which name to use when answering the phones.

Last year we decided to bring all of the surgeries together under one name – Bay Vet Group.

This year we expanded the group with our new vet surgery in Paignton which opened in January and led by Director Christopher Bamford. Our Paignton vet practice is located in Yannons Court next to Aldi on Brixham Road and is open 7 days a week.

Our Paignton surgery is pet friendly with separate cat and dog waiting areas and separate kennel and cattery. We have a dedicated theatre and offer advanced veterinary dentistry and access to our orthopaedic surgeons, cardiologists, dermatologists and ophthalmologists.  We provide routine veterinary services including vaccinations, neutering, worm and flea treatments and surgery.

Later this year we are starting a renovation of our Dawlish surgery to have separate cattery, kennel and waiting facilities for cats and dogs.  We will also have a second theatre installed and isolation ward for infectious patients to be barrier nursed separately to avoid cross contamination.
