Our Admin Team

Caring for your pets as if they were ours

Elizabeth Jackman

Managing Director

I accepted the job as practice manager in 2018 having previously been the Nursing Manager since 2016.  I completed my Leadership management level 5 course in 2016 and then went onto achieve my certificate in veterinary practice management in 2017. I am now excited to be the managing director and help lead Bay Vet Group to achieve its mission and vision.

I qualified in 1997 as a Veterinary Nurse after attending college at the Bristol Vet School, Langford. I travelled to Zimbabwe, Australia, New Zealand and Bali in 1998, eventually returning home to a Head Nurse position in a mixed practice in Somerset. I relocated back to Devon where I became Head Nurse of a small animal surgery in Exeter for 6 years and then joined a mixed practice in Totnes after the birth of my son. My hobbies include reading, gardening, swimming riding and walking.

As of July 2024 I now work as the Practice Operations Manager ensuring the smooth daily operation of all five branches and overseeing the branch managers and office admin team.

I love being part of a practice that is constantly growing and evolving as well as working with an amazing group of people.

I have an ever-growing menagerie of pets (most have been adopted through work) including a horse, 3 cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and a chinchilla. Outside of work I enjoy horse-riding, Pilates and travelling.

I have worked with BayVetGroup since march 2025, which is very exciting for me as I have previously worked at Torbay hospital.

So you might say I have gone from humans to animals ( don’t tell everyone but animals are my favourite ) 🙂

I have a Yorkshire terrier and two cats (who are brother & sister), I would like to add more animals to my home life, but these 3 are enough for now 🙂
