Bay Vet Group’s out of hours emergency work is handled by MiNightVet based at Dart Vale Vets in Totnes and EVES based at Exeter St Davids Veterinary Clinic.  These clinics are staffed by their own dedicated team and will be working on our behalf to deliver emergency care to your pet.  The big advantage to this is that there will be a vet and nurse dedicated on site all night to attend to the care of your animal.  Due to the safety of staff it is no longer possible to offer out of hours home visits and all animals will need to be transported to the Out of hours clinics for treatment.

The MiNightVet service will run from 07.00pm till 8.00am Monday to Sunday. EVES will provide additional cover from 4pm on Saturday and during the day on Sunday.  During these times all calls to our normal number will be redirected to the Out of Hours service where you will have the option to attend the Exeter or Totnes Clinic.  Before 10pm the consultation costs £185.20 and afterwards it is £246 with any treatments in addition to this.  Payment for treatment will need to be made at the time of the consultation.

In an emergency please phone your local surgery and you will be transferred to the on call vet. 

Our Paignton surgery is open 10-4 on Saturday so any problems that occur can be seen during our regular opening times.

The move to introduce a dedicated Out of Hours service, was a decision made jointly by our directors, in order to ensure your pets receive only the highest standard of care 24 hours a day.  This has enabled us to be open for longer and we will now be offering an appointment system  in some branches until 7pm Mondays to Fridays.  Our Dawlish surgery will be open from 8am until 7pm Monday to Friday. Our surgeries will continue to be open on Saturday and in the event of an emergency our on call emergency team will be available as they are now. From 4pm on Saturday until 8am on Monday the dedicated Out of Hours service will continue to provide emergency cover.

If your pet needs our emergency vet service call 01626 862020. The emergency vet may offer advice over the phone or request to see your pet. Please note that there is an extra out of hours charge during unsocial hours. Our emergency vet service is only available to registered clients.

We will continue to deliver all our in-patient care as usual with a nurse and vet assigned to in-patient checks. In the rare instance that an animal has to be hospitalised overnight at a surgery the duty veterinarian will assess the frequency of checks required overnight.  We do not have staff on site at our surgeries 24 hours a day.
