Lorna Watson RVN

Nursing Manager and SVN co-ordinator

I have worked in veterinary practice since 2006 and  qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2011. I joined Bay Vet Group in March 2018. I have a diploma in coaching and mentoring and really enjoy training students and helping with their practical exams.

At home, I have a husband, a little boy and girl and two tortoises that keep me busy.

Tracey Earle RVN

Branch Manager -Dawlish

I am a fully Registered, Qualified Veterinary Nurse. I work part-time and I am also one of the clinical coach team who trains the student nurses within the practice. I live in Torquay with my husband (Graeme), 2 children and 2 cats. I love my job and couldn’t imagine doing anything else!

Kyarna Rushworth RVN

Branch Manager – Paignton

I joined the team at Bay Vet Group in 2016. I had previously worked as a receptionist in both a caravan park and a hotel, as well as having experience as a dog grooming assistant. I have also volunteered at Animals in Distress and had work experience at Paignton Zoo during my time at college. I really enjoy every part of my job and I am eager and enthusiastic to learn more. I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2020.

I have four beautiful rescue cats, a rather gorgeous English Springer Spaniel called Dobby and two beautiful Golden Retrievers called Merlot and Winter. I spend my spare time exploring and travelling around the world.

Branch Manager – Newton Abbot

I have been working for Bay Vets for nearly 10 years now and I recently qualified as a veterinary nurse having completed my veterinary nurse training at Bicton. Although the course was challenging I am excited to be able to call myself a Veterinary Nurse at the end of it and continue following a career that I love.  I have always loved animals and hope to one day specialise in physio or even have my own rescue centre.

I have a 2 year old working cocker spaniel called Jasper and two rescue cats, Millie and Bella who I couldn’t live without. I enjoy exploring Devon and Cornwall in our camper van as much as possible in my spare time and work hard at CrossFit, competing locally.

I have been working for Bay vet Group since September 2007 and qualified as Veterinary Nurse in 2019. I have a particular interest in surgery and orthopaedics.

I have a Labrador called Nelly and a noisy leopard Bengal cat called Binx and a little black cat called Jake that I rescued after a road traffic accident.

Allison Abbot RVN

Stock Manager

I am a qualified, registered veterinary nurse, qualifying in 1998 at Bristol Vet school.

After working in veterinary practices in both Somerset and Derbyshire for a number of years, I then took the leap into veterinary pharmaceutical sales, and worked as a senior territory manager for over ten years.

I am also a qualified pharmacy dispenser and have worked in pharmacy for a number of years before returning to veterinary nursing in 2022.

 

Gemma Huggonson RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse and Theatre Manager Dawlish

I have worked at Bay Vet Group since 2001 and I qualified as a registered Veterinary Nurse in 2007.

My interests during work are general nursing, monitoring anaesthetics and assisting in theatre.

I have three dogs of my own, two of which I rescued many years ago through work.

Outside of work I enjoy walking my dogs, swimming, going for little jollies in my car, horse riding and watching reality TV with a beer.

Tracey Davis RVN

After working on a farm for 11yrs I decided to come in out of the cold and joined Bay Vet Group in 2000, I then qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2007. I love the variety of my job, where every day is different and you just never know what is going to come through the door.

My interests at work are patient care, theatre nursing and laboratory work.

I own 2 dogs and 3 cats, my 1 year old pug “Frank” was a rescue from work and also my old cat “Woofy”. My household tends to be fairly hectic with all of the animals and my 12 year old Daughter, so sometimes coming to work is a bit of respite!

I started working in a Veterinary Practice in 2011 and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2016. I started working for Bay Vet Group in 2017 and haven’t looked back since. I love the medicine side of nursing and training the next generation of veterinary nurses. 

I am currently on Maternity Leave with my baby Boy.

I went straight into veterinary nursing from school in 2002 and joined Bay Vet Group in 2009.

I am a registered qualified veterinary nurse and clinical coach. I enjoy training the student nurses within the practice.

Charlotte Newnham-Dibley RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I started working for Bay Vet Group in 2013 and qualified as an RVN in 2016.

I work at the Dawlish branch and have a particular interest in consulting, inpatient care and nutrition. I have just started running obesity clinics for our patients. I am also starting my International Certificate in Canine and Feline Nutrition in October 2020.

I am also clinical coach and teach our student nurses all the practical skills they require to qualify as a veterinary nurse.

I have my own menagerie of pets at home which keep us all busy at the surgery!

I’ve worked at Bay vet Group since 2016 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in November 2020. 

I love all aspects of my job, but being in theatre is my favourite.

I spend my free time hanging out with my own pets, Louie my little scruffy dog and my cat Norman.

Natasha Melmoth RVN

I studied Veterinary Nursing and Companion Animal Behaviour at the University of Bristol, I graduated in the summer of 2023 and joined Bay Vet Group shortly after this.
I love my role here as an RVN and have been able to expand my knowledge in all areas of nursing. I have a special interest in medical nursing and animal behaviour. My goal in the future is to become a qualified behaviourist.
In my spare time I enjoy reading a variety of books and taking my rescue dog out for adventures.

I first joined Bay Vet Group in the summer of 2022 while still a Student Veterinary Nurse at Hartpury University. I returned to the team in Sept 2023 after graduating as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. 

I always wanted to work with animals and enjoy every aspect of the job. I have a particular interest in anaesthesia and have recently started an advanced veterinary nursing qualification in this field. 

Outside of work I can often be found reading or watching a show at the theatre.

I joined the team in December 2018 after previously working at another vets for 9 years and also working as a support worker for people with disabilities. I have also worked in catteries and kennels prior to that so have lots of experience in working with animals.  Outside of work I love spending my time with my family and friends. I have a passion for running and enjoy getting out and running around the beautiful Torbay. I completed London Marathon earlier this year for charity. I have 2 young children aged 6 and 8 as well as 3 cats and a hamster.

I started working for Bay Vet Group as a Veterinary Nursing Assistant in September 2018, having previously worked at another practice for a year.  I really enjoy helping with anaesthesia and day to day care of our patients. In my spare time I enjoy being out with my friends and family but more so I enjoy being at home cuddling up with my Boxer Barry.

I have just qualified as a Veterinary Nurse and I am awaiting registration with the Royal College.

I joined Bay Vet Group in 2023 as a student nurse. I have an Equine veterinary background and I’m really enjoying learning new skills with smaller patients too! I qualified as a Registered Veterinary nurse in 2024.

When I’m not working I’m usually out and about making the most of the local countryside and beaches with Pixie, my whippet, or riding my horse.

I joined the Bay Vet Group team in 2020 as a Kennel Assistant and soon had the opportunity to progress onto a VNA! I love my job and all aspects involved. My favourite part of the job is caring for our inpatients and helping out in theatre. 

At home I have dog called Jasper and a horse called Woody who I enjoy spending time with.

Hi I’m Meg. I started working for Bay Vet Group in September 2020 but I have always worked with animals one way or another! It’s always been my dream to work with animals and I’m so lucky I have a job where I get to help and care for them. 

I have two pets of my own a Miniature dachshund called Miley who keeps me on my toes, a day with her is never dull! Also a tortoiseshell cat named bubbles who luckily does not live up to the term ‘naughty torty’

In my spare time I have my hands full with these two but I still find time to see my nan with the rest of my family and friends.

I have been working at Bay Vet Group since October 2018 after previously working as an Animal Keeper at a hedgehog and wildlife hospital.
I’ve been fascinated by animals from a young age and was fortunate to have 2 years’ experience as a Zoo Keeper before moving to Devon 7 years ago. I love meeting all the pets (especially the exotics), and I’m very excited to start my second year at college to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse.

I love to spend my time walking around Devon & Cornwall, gym time, wild swimming and spending time with family and friends. I also have two beautiful bunnies at home called Loki and Thor.

Hi, I’m Daniela.  I joined Bay Vet Group in August 2020.  I previously worked in office environments and never imagined I would have the opportunity to work somewhere as interesting as a vets and now I’m here I can’t imagine doing anything else.

When I’m not working, I like to spend my time practising pilates at home but sometimes accidentally end up napping instead.  I try to keep myself busy by doodling weird and wonderful things and being with my friends and family as much as possible.

I joined bay vet group January 2021, after relocating to sunny Devon from Cheltenham. I studied at Aberystwyth university receiving a BSC(hons) degree in Zoology and aspire to become a Veterinary Nurse. I have a passion for inpatient care and love learning new skills on the job. 

Outside of work my time is kept busy with my 3 Guinea pigs, horses and reading.

My name is Jamie and I am a VCA at Bay Vet Group in Paignton. I previously studied Animal Management Level 3 at South Devon College because of my big interest in animal nursing and husbandry.

This was before starting as a kickstart at Bay Vet Group later being employed full time within the practice. In my spare time I enjoy activities such as swimming, running and building computers.

I joined bay vet group in august 2022 as a VCA and hope to progress to do my veterinary nursing qualification. I have 4 years previous experience in a veterinary surgery and have completed my level 3 180 credit diploma in animal management and my level 2 animal nursing assistant qualifications. I enjoy caring for inpatients and helping them feel secure and safe while in the practice.

My free time is taken up by my two husky dogs, enjoying fluffy cuddles and going on long walks.

I joined the Bay Vet Team in April 2019 as their Veterinary Cleaner, and I have since been able to progress on to become a Veterinary Care Assistant – which was my dream job. I have completed my VNA qualification and I am hoping that one day in the future I will be able to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse. I love all aspects of my job especially seeing patients going home happy and healthy. I have a beautiful dog called Kia who is an English Springer Spaniel, and in my time of I love taking her for long walks at the beach.

 

Georgina Symonds

I chose to pursue a career with animals, driven by my deep affection and fascination for them.  I completed the Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Animal Management at SDC.

After graduating, I worked as an animal keeper at Becky Falls, which I thoroughly enjoyed. In November 2022, I joined Bay Vet Group, excited to work more closely with domesticated species and explore the veterinary field. I love caring for pets, updating their owners, and witnessing heartfelt reunions. Being part of a knowledgeable, animal-loving team is incredibly rewarding.

Ava Macdonald

I joined Bay Vet group in 2021 and have found the challenges of working in a veterinary environment very educational.  I studied animals at South Devon college under the animal management level 3 course for two years before moving onto the South Devon University centre for animal science.
My passion for animals began when I was younger and was drawn to all manner of marine life. Now I am passionate about all sorts of animals!
I currently have two dogs, Tarka and Fergus as well as two Cockatiels, Kūki and Zulu, who I couldn’t be without! One day I hope to qualify as a Veterinary Nurse.
