Our Story
The practice began over 30 years ago as a single-vet clinic owned by Frank Noble. Shortly after, Jonathan Carr, now the senior director, joined the team. The practice expanded with the addition of the Teignmouth surgery, marking the start of the Dawlish branch’s growth. In 2000, Rod McGregor joined the partnership, and together with Jonathan, they established Teignview Veterinary Group, featuring the iconic Dawlish Black Swan in its logo.
In 2006, the group grew further with the acquisition of two surgeries in Torquay: one on Warbro Road, followed later by the Sherwell Valley practice. These clinics operated under the name Bayview Vets, led by director Graeme Earle.
It soon became clear that having different names was causing confusion for both clients and staff, especially when answering calls. This led to the decision, in 2015, to streamline the branding and unify the practices under one name; Bay Vet Group.
In 2017 we expanded the group with a new vet surgery in Paignton led by Director Christopher Bamford. Our Paignton vet practice is located in Yannons Court next to Aldi on Brixham Road and is open 7 days a week.
Our Paignton surgery is pet friendly with separate cat and dog waiting areas and separate kennel and cattery. We have a dedicated theatre and offer advanced veterinary dentistry and access to our orthopaedic surgeons, cardiologists, dermatologists and ophthalmologists. We provide routine veterinary services including vaccinations, neutering, worm and flea treatments and surgery.
In 2019 we renovated a large part of our Dawlish surgery to have separate cattery, kennel and waiting facilities for cats and dogs, a second operating theatre and a third consulting room.
We opened our fifth branch, Newton Abbot, in 2022. Offering the pet owner’s of Newton Abbot an independently owned veterinary practice.
Why Us?
Bay Vet Group’s experienced team offer a friendly and personal service for you and your pets. We have been providing local independent veterinary care in the area for decades and in many cases have known pets throughout their lives.
We are proud to be an independent, locally owned small animal veterinary group. Being independent allows us to provide our own high levels of patient and client care, without the constraints and overheads of a large multi-national company.
All of our surgeries have been independently assessed and accredited by the RCVS practice standards scheme with our Paignton and Dawlish branches having achieved Tier 2 General practice level. You can learn more about the Practice Standards Scheme here.
Locally owned. Independent. Caring for you and your pet.
