Global Cat Vaccine Supply IssueInformation for pet owners requiring cat vaccinations
We wish to inform you of a current global supply issue of cat vaccines.
During the coronavirus pandemic many people have turned to cats and dogs as a source of companionship and this has meant an explosion in pet ownership across the world. This increase in vaccine demand, along with restrictions in working practices, has meant there is now a global shortage of cat vaccines. All drug manufacturers are impacted and this has meant that there are no alternatives that we can switch to.
With this situation we have taken the decision to protect those cats which are most at risk and prioritising our limited stocks for kittens who have not had any vaccinations.
The protection provided by the vaccines can safely be extended to 15 months in which time we hope that the manufacturers will have been able to meet the new levels of demand in the world for cat vaccines.
Our records indicate that your cat will be due their vaccine in the next 3 months. We are still recommending that we perform their annual check which will be at the reduced price of £40. Once we have sufficient cat vaccines available we will be able to schedule in their injections with one of our qualified nurses and the cost of £10 will be for the vaccine only as the health check would have been performed already.
In the unlikely event of vaccine supplies being delayed for longer than the 3 month extended immunity period we will provide a vaccine amnesty where the restart vaccine course will cost the same as the regular booster so there will be no financial penalty from this situation.
We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause. If you have any questions please contact us and we will respond as soon as possible.
